recovery

I've been in with Courtney for a couple of hours now. She's pretty drugged up, but is very happy that she can remember me, her kids, and her songs. She's hurting, but "do-able" according to her. She only lost a thin line of hair, but it's shaped like a horseshoe and is covered with staples right now. She has another MRI in the morning to see how things are responding. She didn't think it was very funny when I told her that the doctor had installed a chip to give her a memory upgrade while he was in there, but she has smiled a few other times at my lame humor. Just need to get better from here.

It is a relief to know you are on this side of surgery, Courtney, and that you are laughing at Jason's jokes (humor is a high brain function!) and that you can remember your songs! Thank-you for the updates, you haven't left my thoughts for days. I love you!

Glad to know. If you'd asked me, I would have brought over my hybrid-RAM chip - 9 gigs adapted especially for busy mothers - for Courtney. ONE of us needs to go to Harvard... oh well. I know Courtney already got a huge heart upgrade when she came to our family years ago. Thank you, Courtney, for all your love and your amazing example!

Ditto, Bryce! Courtney, you're one of the biggest hearts I've ever encountered in life, and it will carry you through this with the love of so many family and friends to fill it! Oh, Harvard-Schmarvard... It's only the BYU of the East! Hee-Hee! I'll never forget how the Wasach Mtns. around Timp sang with you former BYU Pixtons--Court, Skye, and Clay--when you Sib. Rev's were belting out, "Come, Thou, Fount of Every Blessing" somewhere near Aspen Valley. It's one of the great memories of my life. With such a song in the heart, who could ever lose the tune? You'll sing again, no question! Just take time to heal and pamper yourselves (all of you Atacks), and God Bless. We're with you!
