Sorry there has been no activity on the blog. I know many of you check it and want to know how things are going. BYU Singers puts out an alumni newsletter every year. I wrote a brief update and thought I would just copy it onto our blog. It is below. I will try to add some more detailed info later.
We are plugging away here in Oregon. Jason's enjoying being a dentist and work is going well. It is a bit slower right now because he just had shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff. He is in a sling and it will be 6 months until full recovery. So for the next 6 months we are running a household on 3 arms and 1 & 3/4th brains. ;) It sure makes for some interesting dynamics around here. The kids are healthy and happy. They have been troopers through an extremely rocky year. I am continuing to heal from the brain surgery I had back in last November where they took out a large tumor that they found to be cancerous. They took out as much as they could but it is terminal so even though my recent MRI looked good we continue to watch and wait. I will have my next MRI to check and see how the tumor is doing this coming Dec. It has almost been one year since the surgery. I have a lot I could share, probably a books worth, but I will try to be concise and short. Recovery is slow, confusing, painful and extremely exhausting, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I still have much ground I hope to cover. I have much to be grateful for though. I am grateful to be on my own two feet again and out of the walker. I am a bit wobbly and have to be careful but hey, it is way better than a walker! I am grateful to have my sight, almost completely, restored. I get stronger in all areas continually. There are many many other subtle things that are difficult and make every day, sometimes, every hour, a challenge. I have lots of people around me who love me and who help me. I know that many of you continue to pray for me and I feel the power of prayer delivered to me daily. I am so grateful to all of you and the love and support you show me. It makes such a difference. Even though the quality of my life is not what I wish it was I am grateful to be alive, to live another day and spend time with my precious family and friends. This world is wonderfully rich with experiences that we ignore or are just too busy stop and enjoy. We are so blessed. There is beauty all around us. What a gift! I am grateful to still be here and try everyday to enjoy that gift completely and to its fullest. I send my thanks and love to all of you. I would love to hear from you. Courtney@courtneyatack.com
